It’s time to go on a little trip…
Oh, Muirkirk.
My heart bleeds just thinking about leaving you, even for a little while, because you’re honestly the best place I’ve ever lived. The care and support and encouragement from my community has been incredible.
But.
Circumstances change. And mine have had some BIG changes this last couple of months. My relationship of five years ended, and my stability went with it. It’s taken me a lot of time and energy to get solid ground under my feet and in a place where I feel like I can serve my clients in the way that they deserve.
I’ve had to do a LOT of personal work during this time. Work that has left me exhausted, sobbing, and frankly a mess. I had to let it all fall apart so I could put it all back together in a way that made sense and wasn’t just me bouncing from one disaster to the next.
And while I am planning on heading back to my wonderful little village soon, it might not be for a while.
So where am I going?
Not far, I promise.
I’ll be based in Kilmarnock for the immediate future, which is awesome because I’ll be working from home and/or the really cool locations around the town. Dean Castle in an etherial white ball gown ghost style anyone?
It also means I have a WINDOW! None of you will fully understand and appreciate how excited I am to be working with natural light again after being in my wonderful little loft space for so long. While I adore my Muirkirk studio, the lack of natural light was starting to get to me. Trying to navigate that big light (if you know you know lol) was irksome. But now I have a big beautiful window and gorgeous light and I cannot wait to create things for folk.
I’m also toying with the idea of photographing men.
My style has changed so much this last 12 months, and so has my mission in some ways. I still want to change an entire generation of people with body image issues, but I’m beginning to realise it’s not just women who feel that way. It’s ALL humans. I’ve photographed men before, and really enjoyed it, so I think it’s time to bring back the boys and teach them how to love the way they look too.
So watch this space for more diversity because I’m here for it all.
